We're excited to look at a 31 year old unnamed (cough, Laphroaig, cough) Islay from Master of Malt's own bottle range.

It’s always exciting to check out a new indie bottler and it’s doubly exciting when it’s an Islay whisky we’re looking at. We’ve got two Laphroaig releases under the microscope today.

We're heading to the south of Islay and looking at this years Càirdeas release alongside an older SMWS single cask.

We love young Laphroaig, so we're excited to try two single casks from two well respected independent bottlers - the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and Berry Bros & Rudd.

We've got a comparison of teaspooned Laphroaigs, both single casks released by BBR. Does the clean bourbon cask win us over or will the moscatel finish give it the little bit extra we're looking for?

We're always excited to try new independent bottlers, so when we caught wind of Woodrow's of Edinburgh, we went straight for a few of their Islay releases.
