We're looking at a polarising distillery for us, one we enjoy older expressions from but struggle with the younger counterparts. We've got a release from the famed 1996 vintage alongside a 10 year old from Ben Nevis.
We've got two releases from Cadenhead's Original Collection, their more budget-friendly series of bottles. One additionally matured in fino, and the other additionally matured in Manzanilla.
Cadenheads have released a new range of whiskies to compliment their Original Collection. These "Enigma" whiskies are unusual, hard to quantify or perhaps even slightly contradictory (their own words!). All they say is that they're good.. so we're looking forward to finding out if that's true.
It's always a pleasure to try single cask Ardbeg, and even more of a pleasure to try two of them side by side, a recent Whisky Sponge release and a '93 Cadenheads bottling.
