Dailuaine 16yo 2008 (Cadenhead’s Edinburgh Shop Bottle) & Cadenheads Glencadam 14yo Authentic Collection April 2026

We're looking at a few more releases from Cadenheads.

Dailuaine 16yo 2008 (Cadenhead’s Edinburgh Shop Bottle)

Region: Speyside

ABV: 57.9%

Price: £75

Distilled in 2008 and bottled in November 2025 after 16 years of maturation, this Cadenhead’s Edinburgh Shop exclusive was drawn from an Oloroso hogshead. Just 300 bottles were released.

Nose

The nose opens with Terry’s Chocolate Orange, toasted oak, cherry, and a touch of pepper spice. The alcohol is well integrated with that hint of pepper spice the only give away to the ABV. With a little air we also find cola cordial, brown sugar, tobacco, and dark chocolate. Pleasant but it doesn’t really nose as old as it is.

Palate

The palate opens with flat cola, gingerbread, and lime juice. Followed by notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and burnt toffee on the mid palate. It has a medium length finish with a little too much black pepper spice joining the other notes. The mouthfeel is good, but the spice quickly distracts from it, and really makes it feel younger than it is.

Nose (with water)

With dilution we get a Tizer and red cola note added to the pre dilution aromas, along with a hint of mandarin. Other than that, it is not wildly different from the undiluted nose.

Palate (with water)

With water there’s a strong honey and orange rind note appearing on the mid palate. The spice is now in better balance, but the mouthfeel has taken a slight hit. The finish remains medium in length.

Conclusion

Pleasant, but just sherry. The cask finish has overpowered the spirit. We’re sure some will appreciate this, but for us we’d prefer to have a little more balance. Still there’s a fair bit to enjoy here.

Score: 6.5/10

Value

Great price for the age and cask type.

Cadenheads Glencadam 14yo Authentic Collection April 2026

Region: Highlands

ABV: 58.9%

Price: £65.00

Distilled in 2011 and bottled in April 2026, this single cask Glencadam was matured in a bourbon barrel for Cadenhead’s Authentic Collection.

Nose

The nose is very citrus forward, with notes of lemon icing sugar, lemon peel, orange marmalade, and mango yoghurt. There is also fresh bread, vanilla extract, pencil shavings, and caramel. Again, the alcohol is well integrated.

Palate

The palate opens with black tea, dried wood, pear, caramel sauce, and lime juice. More of that citrus from the nose joins on the mid palate. A spicy ginger ale note joins on the medium length finish. The mouthfeel is good, though that ginger ale spice is just a touch distracting.

Nose (with water)

With dilution, we’re noticing the alcohol a little more now. The mango note is slightly reduced, and in its place a warm plastic note appears. Overall, as we sit with it, we’re starting to feel this is a little tighter now that water has been added.

Palate (with water)

Water brings out brown sugar and toffee on the palate. The mouthfeel has held up well and the finish remains medium in length, with that distracting spice now a distant memory.

Conclusion

Personally, we would add a little water. While dilution slightly detracts from the nose it helps the palate get to a better balance. A solid bourbon cask dram, though it lacks a little complexity that might have come from a few more years of aging.
